Clubs & Groups

Developing well-rounded children involves exposing them to opportunities in which they can learn more about themselves and their community, broaden their world-view, and participate in clubs that excel and highlight their strengths. At Hayden Elementary, we offer the following clubs and extracurricular activities.

Current Club Offerings

Art Club
This club is open to all fourth through sixth-grade students that love art. This club is a way for students to create a variety of art while expressing their individuality.

Basketball
Our elementary basketball team is for students in fifth and sixth grades. For information about practice and game schedules, please contact the front office.

Book Club
Calling all readers! Our book club members (open to fourth through sixth graders) read the best books and then share their favorite parts with others. Come join us!

Jump Rope Club
This club is open to all students in kindergarten through sixth grade. This is a fun and creative way to keep kids' bodies moving while learning a new skill. This group performs in front of community members and is a fun way for students to gain confidence in performing in front of crowds.

Little Hoosiers
Little Hoosiers is co-sponsored by the Hayden Historical Museum and is open to all fourth through sixth-grade students. Members have the opportunity to study and preserve the rich history of Hayden and Spencer Townships.

Math Bowl
Math Bowl is a team of students in fifth and sixth grades that love math and meet to prepare for the Math Bowl competition. Membership in this group is by application only.

National Elementary Honor Society
National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) recognizes students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated responsibility, service, and leadership in school and in their community. Please view our National Elementary Honor Society 2022 Inductees.

School Musical
Our HES musical production is open to all fifth and sixth-grade students. Anyone interested in becoming a cast or crew member should speak with Mr. Stoner.

Spell Bowl
Our Spell Bowl team is comprised of students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades who demonstrate excellent spelling skills. Team membership is determined through an application process.

Student Council
We determine membership in the student council through an open application process for all fifth and sixth-grade students. This organization gives students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and practice those skills within our learning environment.
