Bunny Breakfast

Mark your calendars for the annual bunny breakfast scheduled for March 14 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sand Creek Elementary. We will pass out the coloring sheets for the coloring contest at schools the week of March 9. Students should bring their completed coloring sheet to the bunny breakfast on March 14.

Flowers Needed

Mrs. Hughes will be making props for our spring musical. She is in need of silk flowers. If you have some silk flowers (any size/color) that you would like to donate for this project, she would be appreciative.

Compliments to Jayden Matlock

Congratulations to Jayden Matlock on winning the countywide spelling bee! He is now eligible to participate in the Ford Motor Company Spelling Bee on March 14, 2020. This event will be in Louisville, KY. Great job, Jayden! You have our support.

Sixth Grade Fundraiser

The Hayden Elementary sixth grade is holding a fundraiser. The name of the fundraiser is, “You’re Crush ’n It Valentine!” All Hayden students may purchase and send to a friend a Crush soda. We will take orders Monday through Thursday every week in February (or until we run out of our supply of Crush soda). We will deliver sodas on Fridays. You may order the sodas in Mrs. Stoner’s room. The cans of soda are $1.00, and all profits will go to benefit the sixth grade field trip fund. We hope our fundraiser serves to assist our sixth grade students in paying for their overnight trip, and to help all Hayden students have a fun Valentine season.

Jr. Duck Stamp

If your child has interest in participating in the Jr. Duck Stamp contest, Mrs. Phillips has the permission slips. Parents/guardians must sign the permission slip before your child can turn in their completed art. The deadline is March 12 if you would like Mrs. Phillips to take them to the refuge. Mrs. Phillips will give your child the packet that has all of the rules. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Phillips at (812) 346-2813 or the MNWR at (812) 522-4352.

Calling Parent Volunteers

JCSC is reviewing curriculum adoption materials for reading for kindergarten through 8th grade. If you would be interested in serving as a parent volunteer for reading textbook adoption review, please email JCSC Director of Curriculum and Instruction Nikki Johnson. Thank you for your help!

We recently sent home order forms so that your student can order a yearbook. The cost is $15. Please return the form and money to the school office by Friday, March 6. You can make checks payable to Lifetouch, or you can order online at the Lifetouch website.
